Hop-Cube will be on the stand I12 at the conference Planète Mode d’Emploi organised in Paris, Porte de Versailles until the next 27th September (Sunday).

It is an open event presenting company initiatives in favor of a sustainable development. You also will find conferences and hand-on-lab stands on the theme.

Reminder, Hop-Cube will be at the E-COMMERCE PARIS 2009 trade show

Remember that Hop-Cube will present the HopScore service, the first ecological barometer for online purchase at the next E-COMMERCE PARIS 2009 trade show on the 29, 30 September and 1 October. The entry is free bu you need to register first.

Hop-Cube will take part in the international Conference Lift with Fing!

The international conference will take place in Marseille in the Palais du Pharo from 18th to 20th of June. 500 participants from over 40 countries will gather to explore the innovations that are changing the society, business and culture.

It is a great opportunity for us to take advantage of unique networking opportunities with the world’s brightest pionneers, find new ideas for our projects and share our visions and achievements with an international community of influencers.

We will have the opportunity to introduce HopScore which squares perfectly with this desire of innovation and change. By meeting cyber consumers and E-commerce sites’ expectations, HopScore builds a strong and positive link between the Web and environmental issues…. A huge challenge for the future!

Communication, let’s start the debate on our stand !

We decided to launch an interactive test to evaluate our visitors’environmental footprint. We obtained Dennis PAMLIN’s support for using WWF footprint calculator ! The winner will be rewarded: Hop-Cube will plant a tree on Tree-Nation website to honor the best environmentally citizen!

Back from Prague

As we said in a previous post, Hop-Cube was selected for the European investor summit. This event took place in Prague, the 12th & 13th May. The program : coaching, meeting with entrepreneurs and with investors !

First day : coaching and first meeting

On the afternoon, there was a coaching by Rick Salamon from Xelerator, with the question : why entrepreneurs fail to get funding ? In group, we worked on problems of entrepreneurs and the best way to solve them. Finally, our group worked on the question “what is a good entrepreneur ?” and we selected to main qualities : vision & leadership. 

At the end of the afternoon, there was a cocktail in order to meet investors : pitch, pitch, pitch …

Second day : Hop-Cube is presenting !

Hop-Cube presented its product the second day, in front of lots of European investors. Great moment ! Lots of people came after the presentation in order to discuss about Hop-Cube and fundings, because our product is sooo interesting.

To conclude : great event to meet interesting people and to learn how to be attractive for investors.

Hop-Cube selected for the StartUp Challenge!

A few weeks ago, Hop-Cube had applied for a contest of innovative startups called StartUp Challenge, held next April 29th by DDB Group in France in association with Microsoft France programs IDEES and BizSpark programs.

We recently had the result of this application: Hop-Cube has been chosen to hold a stand on this event and will face 16 other innovative startups into a pitch battle without mercy!

We look forward to once again take advantage of this opportunity to present our HopScore to the public and the media.

Growth and Innovation Day 2009: a frank success for Hop-Cube!

As we announced some time ago, Hop-Cube was invited to participate in the Growth and Innovation Day 2009 held on 5 March in Brussels. Organized by Microsoft, it was a full day of lectures on the theme of innovation at the European level, providing an opportunity for participants to visit a salon with plenty of exhibitors which are parts of the Microsoft ecosystem.

Throughout the day, we have seen personalities including Alexandr Vondra, as deputy Prime Minister for European affairs, Meglena Kuneva, European Commissioner for Consumer Protection and Viviane Reding, European Commissioner responsible for Information Society and Media.

But beyond these “stars” of EU policy, we had the opportunity to meet directors of Europe as well as professors of recognized universities (Cambridge, Maastricht) interested in new technology and the environment .

This show was an opportunity for Microsoft to show its commitment to support for innovation in European countries based on 4 themes: education, environnemental, innovation and future for the Internet, and health. The press was of course invited to cover this event and we had the honor to respond to questions of journalists from The Tribune and CNN.

We remain a very good impression of the event, organized by Microsoft with accuracy, allowing us to communicate and network at a European level!

Hop-Cube at Microsoft Techdays 2009, Paris!

The Hop-cube team attended the sessions of presentations of new products released by Microsoft at the event Techdays 2009 held at the Palais des Congrès, Paris!

This year, something new has emerged in the sessions: a GreenIT session-pack composed of lectures and roundtables on topics overviewing both aspects “infrastructure” and “development” (which is rare for the moment) .

One of the GreenIT sessions that we attended was presented by the excellent Eric Mittelette (here is a post explaining the idea of a GreenIT session-pack) and Eric Vernié. They demonstrated, holding a powermeter in hand,  that the optimization of algorithms used in software strongly impacts (up to three times) the power consumption of the machine running the program.

It was three days of intensive training on all new products, including tools around virtualization and cloud computing / hosting (Azure services plateform), and an opportunity for us to see the efforts realized by Microsoft to meet the expectations of its (professionals) customers in terms of sustainable development.

We hope that this initiative will be repeated and reinforced next year!

lagreenteam.fr initiative launching

Always on the lookout for an event on the green business theme, we attended this morning the official launch of the project lagreenteam.fr at La Cantine.

Following a reflection on loneliness, lack of resources faced by some independent consultants, Pascal Minguet and Cyril Jacque launched this initiative to create a company on a cooperative model to offer a brand and billing services to individual consultants. On the other hand, this cooperative company would be able to meet the various demands on the market of advice and assistance to sustainable development. 

This kind of initiative is totally in the spirit of the popular phrase “Unity is strength”. It seeks to assemble a team of volunteers around a single repository, while preserving their freedom of action. 

The breakfast launch was an opportunity for us to discover the lagreenteam.fr foundation process and two partner companies that are Verteego (web platform of self-reporting about sustainable development, we had already spoken here) and YouLink (the first collaborative search engine). 

In the room were people with very different profiles, from high school to university cursus and in areas ranging from environment to trade. 

In short, a rewarding time for discussion and dialogue and an ambitious project that we will observe carefully in the coming months!

“Vive les éco-entrepreneurs !” Event

On the eve of 9 December 2008, we learnt that a conference on eco-entrepreneurship was organized by the Jeune Pousse team in the ESCP-EAP premises. 

We therefore unhesitatingly participated in this event whom highlighted companies as Avenir Investir(thermal engineering firm specializing in the energetic improvement of buildings), Sineo (a car washing service without water, won the Entreprise d’Avenir award 2008), and Greenzer (an eco-shopping portal). 

Each of the speakers told us of course about his experience as an entrepreneur, but adding the color of innovation in the field of sustainable development.  As usual, this event was followed by a small snack which enabled us to exchange and know a little better the projects owned by people in the room and on the stage! 

We thank the Jeune Pousse team that has managed to organize this conference successfully!
